Pearson Middle East today celebrated 20 years of delivering teaching and learning services in the region that helps people progress in their lives through education.

The event was commemorated in Dubai with teams from offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, who played an instrumental role in the company’s success. Staff included four employees who recently completed 20 years with the company.

Pearson was originally founded in the UK as a construction business in the 1840s before switching to publishing in the 1920s. The learning company today offers educational products and services, assessment, and professional development for all stages of learning. After setting up the Middle Eastern office in September 1998, the company introduced several English Language teaching resources for schools and universities to support them in their efforts to teach English to their learners. Pearson’s product portfolio grew digitally to incorporate a wider breadth of services, including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) resources for international schools and universities, academic and vocational qualifications, English tests and assessments.

In line with current trends, Pearson has shifted to blended and digital resources, as well as the use of augmented and virtual reality educational technology to enhance the quality of learning.

Pearson Middle East’s diverse workforce today includes more than 150 employees, and over 26 nationalities across Turkey, UAE and Saudi Arabia covering the whole region.
